DEVFS and the SLICE code offer a number of substantial bogosity
reductions in many areas, as well as the opportunity to make the
system behave more like LA might expect it to.

If you feel that this discussion has been either a flamewar or in
anyway derogatory of DEVFS, then I am sorry for possibly having
contributed to that interpretation. My strongest desire has been to
see things come to the point where the outstanding issues regarding
general DEVFS acceptance are being addressed. Julian has given us to
understand that he intends to do this ASAP, which is about as close to
consensus as things have ever been.

Should you have any objections to the proposed implementation (which
strives extremely hard to avoid violating POLA), I think that airing
them sooner rather than later would be very valuable.
