Hi, making 1st FreeBsd 4.2 intall attempt. Installing as only OS on a Pentium MMX 200mgz box with 64 mg ram and a = 3 gig HD=20 I'm able to set the partitions(used defaults) when the extaction of the bin to / directory starts, I get an error = "Write failure on transfer" followed by "Unable to transfer the bin = distribution fro acd0c".=20 I read in the trouble .txt file Question? What is this " 'bios_drive:interface (unit,partition) = kernel_name ' thing that is displayed with the boot help? Answer ....longstanding problem in the case where the boot disk not the = first disk in the system.....Bios uses a different numbering = scheme...... How do i make the boot disk(I'm booting from the cdrom) the 1st disk = recognized? I'm a Linux/FreeBsd newbie. Have Unix experience from my job.(1 year). = Had Solaris X86 installed on this same box.
