This doesn't sound right because ad0 is an IDE drive.  Also, if you did
"default all" you probably have two swap partitions, and that will =
probably
cause problems.

Perhaps try installing again with just the IDE drive.  You could add the
SCSI later.  It should be no problem to move /tmp, but I'm not sure
about the swap partition.
