What are you really trying to build from XFree86 to libmng to
qt-2.2.x, and then KDE-2.1

Most of those steps have to be sequential. I started out doing
pkg_delete's of all of them and then did a make and make install for
each. After that was done, is when I fired off the make in
../x11/kde2.
