>Description:
Using the Microsoft Wheel Mouse Optical USB and PS/2 Compatible (three button wheel mouse) connected through a usb-ps/2 converter and the two port KVM switch (doesn't give a brand name) the following occurs:

1) When the other end is plugged into the computer via the ps/2 port FreeBSD accepts the mouse as a generic sysmouse but the mouse does not move even though I can boot into the X11 environment

2) When the other end is plugged into the usb port on the computer via another ps/2-usb converter it can only be detected as an unknown device using 'moused -i all -p /dev/usb0', again the mouse does not move but I can boot into the X11 environment

3) I can plug the mouse directly into the USB port, bypassing the KVM entirely and it automatically detects it. However this is not ideal for me so I didn't try booting into X11 like this.

The KVM switch appears to function flawlessly under the Knoppix Operating System (tested 3.4 and 3.6) and under Windows XP.

>How-To-Repeat:
Plug a USB mouse into an usb-ps/2 adaptor and plug it into a generic KVM switch, then try and set up your mouse to function correctly
>Fix:
Write a wrapper for the Knoppix mouse drivers? (/dev/psAux device using generic ps2 drivers apparently)

Update the mouse drivers in FreeBSD?
