Great!  Thanks to both you and Mike for all the work you've done to make
this happen.  Thanks also to David and others who helped support it :-).
Another checkbox on the release feature list.

BTW, do you have a proposed schedule for a final check that all
functionality is in the new system, followed by purging of the old
scripts?  Are there any roadblocks to making that happen at this point?

Also, since I haven't had a chance to look lately -- to what extent do we
export this functionality to third party packages, and to what extent do
we document it in the handbook and developer's handbook?
