I think this question is kinda lame, But anyway out of curiosity. I have FreeBSD 3.4 machine set up as a GATEWAY with NAT and 4 computers are connected to it, I disabled all Services on Gateway. So when I do NMAP scan on it, it does not show me any information about Gateway, also it does not show any services running and open ports. But I do not quite Understand How it's possible that other machines on the network can Use Napster, Web Browser, IRC via Gateway with no problems without opening any ports on a GATEWAY ? I do not think I understand how it works.... I am not complaining, I don't have any problems with GATEWAY, but I am just curious... Can anyone make this clear to me? Please? Andrei.
