Subject: networking headers not include others?

Why is it that the network headers do not include any necessary headers?
(e.g., <netinet/ip.h> uses n_long, but the file does not include any other
files that would provide a definition for them)

Do I just have a botched copy of the headers or is this intentional?

If this is intentional, then why? Now I have to go though all the headers
looking for a definition of this type, arghhh.
