No worries. :-)

My scratchbox is using a Hercules monitor, so i will complain loudly
if something breaks there.  And i know of various sites that depend on
the serial consoles.

I would even be tempted to do a stab at serial console installation,
but i still need a good idea how to `switch screens' there.  You know,
we need 4 different screens that can be switched, one for the menus,
one for debug & console messages, one for the EHS, and one for PPP.
