Subject: Problem with sound on K7V motherboard (/w built in audio)

Hi,

I've been attempting to get the sound working on a K7V motherboard and have
had
little luck. I've enabled the chip in the bios using the default soundblaster
address/values. According to the boot probes it seems to be finding the
hardware but I've had no success at getting any software to talk to the sound
devices. My best guess is that I've either left out a piece of hardware
config
info or I'm missing an entry in /dev I used MAKEDEV to create /dev/pcaudio
and /dev/pcaudioctl. and I get a 'not configured' when I attempt to open the
device.

I would also like to get the midi port working on the board if anyone has the
right incantations (but that's a lower priority).

Anyway, here's the slice from my config file (4.0-release - I haven't had a
chance to upgrade to -stable yet)

Hints are appreciated.

Thanks,
Dan Smith
