The -CURRENT |version of FreeBSD changes several times a day. From time to time |changes occur which require recompilation of all LKMs. A person using |-CURRENT would almost certainly have trouble with a driver supplied in |LKM form on floppy. Right. So like with most other OSs, binary-only driver dists would most likely only be worth targetting at released versions, such as 2.2.6.
