I personally use a HP 8210i (the 7200's "big brother") with no problems. 
I have it on reliable sources that the 7200i works just as well.

However, you need FreeBSD 3.2-RELEASe or later, however.  2.2.x does not
support them at all, and 3.0-3.1 contain a bug that could cause your write
process to abort (resulting in a ruined disc) if the your burner does not
support the ATAPI "rezero" command.  3.2 fixes this problem.

Also, the ATAPI CD-writer suppport is *NOT* Done using the 'cdrecord'
port.  Instead, take a look at the scripts in /usr/share/examples/atapi.
