Please help me in this regard. If by 'folder' you mean a 'directory', and in particular, a directory living under src/sys/modules/, then you are actually trying to compile a module. You do it by: cd /usr/src/sys/modules/blah && make clean depend && make all install clean However, there is no 'ie' or 'if_ie' module for the 'ie' interface; this means that you are stuck with recompiling the whole kernel.
