I guess I'll send-pr them now. -STABLE may lose a few Qt/KDE ports that
don't work with NEWGCC, if you upgrade these libraries. But I guess that
doesn't really matter right now.

Well, while we're doing all this upgrading, we should just add the
USE_NEWGCC knob to USE_QT in bsd.port.mk. First we'll upgrade the
kdelibs, then add the knob, then change all of the ports to use
kdecore.3 as I've done on my site. That will suffice for 4.0. Some ports
will break because of NEWGCC, but the primary KDE and Qt ports should be
just fine.

Ok. I need to check out the problem I've heard reported about
--version-info for kdelibs.. then I'll send-pr the kdelibs + core KDE
port upgrades. After I'm done with that, I'll alphabetically send-pr the
rest of the updates.

You'll need to add USE_NEWGCC to USE_QT in bsd.port.mk early on.
