I'm considering purchasing a Compaq LTE 5300 laptop with either a 3Com
3C589C or a Megahertz XJEM3288C (ethernet + FAX modem).

Major questions on this potential $5,000 purchase...
o Will FreeBSD 2.1.x run on the Compaq LTE 5300?
o Has anyone worked with either of the ethernet cards I've mentioned?
o Is anyone willing to say, "Don't buy that LTE 5300! It's crap!
Instead you'd be better off with BLAH."?

By the way, what's the "Nomad project"?

Any comments or info would be appreciated. THANKS!
Regards,
- Mike
