FreeBSD churchill 4.0-CURRENT FreeBSD 4.0-CURRENT #1: Wed Mar  8 17:56:36
EST 2000     root@churchill:/usr/local/src/sys/compile/CHURCHILL  i386

and this -

jdk1.1.8_ELF.V1999-11-9.tar.gz

This little class tickles the bug -

class sigfpe {

  void fpe() {
    int a, b;
      a = 7; b = 0;
    try {
      a = a / b;
      return; // fail
    } catch (java.lang.Exception x) {
      // pass
    }
    return;
   }

  public static void main(String[] args) {
    sigfpe foo = new sigfpe();
    foo.fpe();
  }
}

Andrew.
