 From the stty man page:

     sane        Resets all modes to reasonable values for interactive termi-
                 nal use.


 Try entering:

	stty sane

If you terminal is in a really bad way - you won't be able to see
what your typing, and you may have to send a cntrl-J or some other
character to actually enter the command.
