Subject: auto starting tip on a serial port ?
Message-ID: <3AC0E296.BC8CD9BE@dvart.com>

I have several FreeBSD machines with their console on the serial ports.

Currently, I use another machine as a console server, by login in and
running tip on the appropriate serial port.

Is there a way to have tip start automatically on the right serial port,
on different virtual consoles ?

I tried to replace the getty entries in /etc/ttys with a corresponding
"tip cuaa0X" entry, but the program dies repeatedly.

What I am doing wrong ?

bruno
