Okay, I should know better than to jump in here, but here goes:

Not all docs committers have to read all the mailing lists. If you
could get several docs folks to volunteer to each cover one of the
"fringe" BSD lists, the job would be done. Most of those lists are
fairly low-volume.

Hell, I'll put my money where my mouth is. I'm going to go subscribe
to (rummage through site), let's say, -fs and see what's happening
there. If any exciting changes come through, I'll write something and
send-pr it to docs. The documented lists are where new lists &
projects come from, after all.

Gunpoint is rarely necessary. You want something that will hurt a lot
more, like their SCSI cable and a pair of scissors.

Sadly, yes. Most of the developers communicate best in code. It
would be nice if it was otherwise, but while I'm dreaming, I'd like a
pony.
