My Mitsumi ATAPI CDROM does not like fast chip speeds or is dying (?). I have it set up as primary on the second IDE controller with the WD HDD on the first, and I was able to successfully install when I reduced the processor speed to 75MHz again, so it appears to be a motherboard / chipset speed-related error. I could only load the INSTALL kernel from Dos. I think it is actually the CD drive itself, because I am now having problems (at 75) reading from CD's from Micros**t 'Doze. I have a SCSI CD and Ultra 1GB HDD to add to the system, bet they'll help when I go 2.2.5 :) This is my home box; most of my work stuff is all SCSI CD's. Has anybody else seen speed-related ATAPI problems? oooOOO O O O o * * * * * * o ___ _________ _________ ________ _________ _________ ___==_ V_=_=_DW ===--- Don Wilde [don@PartsNow.com] [http://www.PartsNow.com ] /oo0000oo-oo--oo-ooo---ooo-ooo---ooo-ooo--ooo-ooo---ooo-ooo---ooo-oo--oo
