No I hadn't done that, but have now.  Same problem. I ended up 
following his instructions up until the part that reads: "At this 
point, you should have a working gateway machine. Test to make sure 
machines on the local network can access the Internet."

Thanks anyway (plus I can use the site later perhaps).
