Hello; This is rather a stupid question, but which one is the stable release of FreeBSD right now? In the ftp site there is 2.2.8-stable, 2.2.8-release, 3.1-stable, 3.1-relase. What is the difference between stable and relaase, and what is the difference between 3.1 and 2.2.8? is the 3.1 the developement version, or has it been officially released.
