    Let me put it this way...  as a committer I am not going to go through
    a checklist from A to Z every time I need modify something.  I am only
    going to go through a checklist from A to E.

    Those of you who are rabid about things getting ripped out from under
    vendor branches can take the time to move those things into contrib
    where it's obvious that they are on a vendor branch.  You are going to
    have to live with anything you leave out in the rain.
