Newsweek ran a 2 page article on open-source software in the Jan 18th
issue, primarily focusing on Linux. The article reads like most of the
other "mainstream" press Linux has been getting in recent months, and the
word 'arcane' is abused at least once. Yahoo is mentioned in passing, but
not in the context of free software, and, as expected, FreeBSD is nowhere
to be seen. A half-page anecdote by Andrew Leonard of Salon magazine
describing his experience with Linux follows, abusing 'arcane' once again
as he describes how one actually has to *gasp* configure a Linux box.

Still, it's good to see that free software is getting mainstream
attention, and has been said before, what's good for Linux is good for us.

BTW, FreeBSD advocates who'd like to help alleviate this "UNIX is scary!"
mentality are invited to contribute to my project to create a unified GUI
configuration frontend.
