Broken FreeBSD Port: pear-Archive_Tar-1.3.1

The port, http://www.freshports.org/archivers/pear-Archive_Tar/ , is
marked as broken due to it leaving behind files/directories
http://pointyhat.freebsd.org/errorlogs/i386-errorlogs/e.4.2005021819/pear-Archive_Tar-1.3.1.log

I noticed that these are pretty much the same files that were left
behind and broke the pear-PEAR port,
http://www.freebsd.org/cgi/query-pr.cgi?pr=77594. I see that
Archive_Tar is included in the patch, but apparently the patch is not
working for Archive_Tar.

Now that I'm looking for other broken pear ports I see that a number,
pear-XML_RPC, pear-Console_GetOpt, pear-Text_Password are all
suffering from the same problem.

I apologize that I am not including a diff to fix this, I am still
trying to grok the stituation, but these problems seem to start at or
about the time of
http://www.freebsd.org/cgi/cvsweb.cgi/ports/devel/pear-PEAR/Makefile.common.diff?r1=1.12&r2=1.13&only_with_tag=MAIN&f=h
