Unfortunately, it deals mostly with the i810 and i830 chips, information
on registers etc. for the i845 is limited.

And http://developer.intel.com/ has Programmer's Reference Manuals (prm)
for the gmch (graphics controller) of the i810 and i815 chipsets, but
not for the i830 or i845.
Does anybody know where I can get information about registers etc. for
the i845? Or a prm for the i845 gmch?
