   If the Adaptec is your second hard drive, you can install the FreeBSD bootloader onto the first and second drive.  Install BSD onto the second drive and when your system boots, you should be able to choose which OS you want to boot using the F(n) keys.  Double check to make sure WinME can be booted with the FreeBSD bootloader.  The filesystem is FAT32 so I am assuming it can, but double check.
