Try the WWW Homepage counter by M.A.Muquit at:

http://www.fccc.edu/users/muquit/Count.html

It is extremely configurable and he provides VERY detailed 
instructions on how to install it...(Even for a UNIX newbie like 
me!!).  Best of all, it's FREE!

No Idea on the Search Engine but you might want to check out Matt's 
Pearl Script archive at:
