IMHO. sorry, but I was getting too annoyed. If this is stupid legacy, why do new files start to copy that? This PR is not only about bsd.ports.mk, in fact we have an 1.1 version that does it. `expand -t 4' might help. Try grep -l 'ts=4' /usr/ports/Mk/bsd.*.mk | xargs ident -Oliver
