Hmm... an interesting followup to the laste email... a flood ping FROM the laptop TO another machine clears up the problem... a flood ping TO the laptop FROM another machine does nothing. I assumed this may have had something to do with context switches (or something)... so I did a 'while (true); do lptest;done'... this also did nothing, except for the time that the hard-drive read in the text pages, at this time the sound was clear. Any ideas what is going on here?
