Subject: inkscape without eps and pdf import by default?
Message-ID: <4B13AE67.5090506@janh.de>

inkscape has 'POPPLER "Enable libpoppler-cairo for rendering PDF
preview" off' by default.

Until 0.46, a default package of inkscape was able to import eps (with
pstoedit present at least).

Since 0.47 eps import uses ps2pdf from ghostscript (see release notes)
and then poppler. Even with ghostscript installed, the default package
of inkscape cannot import eps anymore.

At least, the description of the option needs to be changed. Moreover,
the default could be reconsidered, since I guess that most would expect
the default package of inkscape to have eps/pdf import capabilities. An
optional run time dependency on ghostscript might be appropriate, too.

Cheers,
Jan Henrik
