Yes, I'm an idiot for not keeping up to date backups. I was happily (and
naively) enjoying using FreeBSD/FreeNAS for a home file server, believing
the array was all the redundancy I needed. Imagine my surprise when the
system drive made a squealing noise and died. I've gotten some pointers from
the FreeNAS team and think I've learned enough over the past year to call
myself a FreeBSD sysadmin-wannabe (I thought I knew more until I skimmed the
recent BSD certification questionnaire). However, time is obviously dragging
on and it's time to find an expert (at least to confirm if recovering the
array is technically possible without knowing the array configuration).

I have raw images of the three 220G IDE drives from the array, and can also
provide remote ssh to a server with the drives installed. If you can help,
please respond with brief qualifications, a reference or two, any questions
to clarify the situation, and proposed compensation (perhaps a donation to
the FreeBSD foundation on your behalf?)

Regards,

Dale Scott
