3) There is. Have 4.2-Release floppies have a grab at the hard disks, 
AFTER you have them partitioned with good ol' DOS. There is even a 
FreeDOS out there (which was DR DOS in an earlier instance.

FreeBSD disk partitioning can take hints from DOS created partition 
tables ;)
