Not really.  The boot loader loader can.  Without help, kldload can't.
However, I have a small script that does a simple:

	#!/bin/sh
	cp /modules/$1.ko.gz /tmp
	gunzip /tmp/$1.ko.gz
	kldload /tmp/$1.ko
	rm /tmp/$1.ko
