If you read it as an implication, I apologize, because I didn't mean to imply that. When it was disclosed that AT&T was using BSD-licensed code without following the terms of that license (which was stricter than it is today), that "zapped" the AT&T lawsuit pretty thoroughly, and led to the out of court settlement.
