Attached as config.mc, pretty much default with virtusertable option
added.

I followed INSTALL in the source package, build sendmail, build cf, then
install cf, and sendmail binary.

Actually, I believe that in 8.9.3 my data files were in /etc/mail , I
assume you're referring to my dbs, etc.. Here is my /etc/mail ls output:
