Thanks for the info.  Seeing as how my knowledge is
somewhat...
limited, I'm going to scroll around the squid.conf and
see if
there is an option to open ports (I seem to recall
something
near the very top of the file) and hopefully I'll
stumble
onto something that works.

Or would this be in vain?  I know I had messed around
with
POP3GWD in an attempt to allow access, but gave up
after
noticing that TCPD was integrated into INETD.
