We're the folks with the lost command problem, and even though we are having a strange problem with the controller, I'd recommend the 3ware controller. For about the price of 1 SCSI 75 GB disk drive we got a 4 channel controller and four 75 GB IDE disks. While it isn't working yet, I'm confident that 3ware will get it resolved.
