Speaking only for me, this change is probably OK for lpr (I may change my mind on that, but my initial reaction is that it's probably OK). I like the idea of this change, I just want to check it on some of the other platforms I compile lpr on. However, I would not be too thrilled if a similar change was made to 'usr.bin/patch', because I'm in the middle of a rather tedious merge process on that.
