hi again, I meant, when I give "ifconfig fxp1" at the prompt! (to see how the card is configured).. In my rc.conf (FreeBSD 4.2) i have indeed the following line: ifconfig_fxp1="inet 192.168.0.1 netmask 255.255.255.0" thanks PS.. one transiver..
