This is a very common problem. CHange your kernel securelevel in rc.conf to -1. -----Original Message----- From: owner-freebsd-questions@FreeBSD.ORG [mailto:owner-freebsd-questions@FreeBSD.ORG]On Behalf Of Dan Ouellet Sent: Monday, June 18, 2001 5:10 PM To: freebsd-questions@FreeBSD.org Subject: make install fails Last week I successfully configured and installed a custom kernel. Today I tried to reconfigure my kernel and all seemed OK till I tried to "make install". The "config, make depend, make" sequence all went OK, without errors. However when I run "make install", I get the following error: # make install chflags noschg /kernel chflags: /kernel: Operation not permitted *** Error code 1 (ignored) mv /kernel /kernel.old This also is an Operation not permitted. Any idea on how to fix this problem? Should you need additional information or a copy of my latest kernel config file, let me know and I will forward it.
