This is a multi-part message in MIME format. ------=_NextPart_000_0007_01C06C31.4E8043C0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset="iso-8859-1" Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable Help!!!! I'm trying to set up a home network using a BSD box as a server and a = Windows box as a client. Information on the web involving nat etc. is so contradictory and = outdated I am getting nowhere. I have connectivity between the boxes using Telnet, but I cannot get out = to the internet with the client. Using FreeBSD 4.1.1 BSD box: ed0 is 24.aa.bb.cc 255.255.252.0 (NIC to the net using = DHCP) ed1 is 10.0.0.1 255.255.255.0 (internal = network NIC) Windows Box is 10.0.0.2 255.255.255.0 Is the any step by step SIMPLE instructions on where and how to = configure the firewall, and NAT and such? I'm not a complete freaking idiot, but I'm too new at this to cipher = through what is outdated and what is accurate, and what is horsesh*t = inacurately written by other amateurs. thanx J.R. ------=_NextPart_000_0007_01C06C31.4E8043C0 Content-Type: text/html; charset="iso-8859-1" Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.0 Transitional//EN"> <HTML><HEAD> <META http-equiv=3DContent-Type content=3D"text/html; = charset=3Diso-8859-1"> <META content=3D"MSHTML 5.50.4611.1300" name=3DGENERATOR> <STYLE></STYLE> </HEAD> <BODY bgColor=3D#ffffff> <DIV><FONT face=3DArial size=3D2>Help!!!!</FONT></DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV><FONT face=3DArial size=3D2>I'm trying to set up a home network = using a BSD box=20 as a server and a Windows box as a client.</FONT></DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV><FONT face=3DArial size=3D2>Information on the web involving nat = etc. is so=20 contradictory and outdated I am getting nowhere.</FONT></DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV><FONT face=3DArial size=3D2>I have connectivity between the boxes = using Telnet,=20 but I cannot get out to the internet with the client.</FONT></DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV><FONT face=3DArial size=3D2>Using FreeBSD 4.1.1</FONT></DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV><FONT face=3DArial size=3D2>BSD box: ed0 is=20 24.aa.bb.cc 255.255.252.0 (NIC to the net using=20 DHCP)<BR> = ed1 is 10.0.0.1 = 255.255.255.0 (internal network NIC)</FONT></DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV><FONT face=3DArial size=3D2>Windows Box is 10.0.0.2 = 255.255.255.0</FONT></DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV><FONT face=3DArial size=3D2>Is the any step by step = SIMPLE instructions on=20 where and how to configure the firewall, and NAT and such?</FONT></DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV><FONT face=3DArial size=3D2>I'm not a complete freaking idiot, but = I'm too new=20 at this to cipher through what is outdated and what is accurate, and = what is=20 horsesh*t inacurately written by other amateurs.</FONT></DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV><FONT face=3DArial = size=3D2>thanx<BR>J.R.</FONT></DIV></BODY></HTML> ------=_NextPart_000_0007_01C06C31.4E8043C0-- To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-questions" in the body of the message
