Oooops, I forgot to include a separate error message.

After I let the e17 login window hang long enough, it managed to open the
desktop environment but also displayed a message:

Your display server does not use (? missing from my note) XComposite, or
Ecore-X was built without XComposite support. Note that for XComposite
support, you will also need XRender and XFiles support in X11 and Ecore.

Apparently I made a mistake in the options before compile? Can anyone tell
me which port/option I must change to correct the error?
