Those are nice clear statements, which is exactly the sort of thing
I'm advocating. However, while both notices are very likely to be
visible to the individual looking to purchase a CD, neither are in the
normal "line of sight" for people downloading FreeBSD 4.0. My
suggestion is that this be remedied, by placing such statements in the
release announcement, and the release notes. I expect most people,
downloaders and CD purchasers, read those.
