Thanks to Harlan Stenn for politely pointing out the ERRATA.TXT entry.
Dunno why I didn't remember reading about this on -stable.....

But.

I've installed the new boot0 from jhb's web page, and still she no
work. Same symptoms, blank screen with a "-" (which is actually a
flashing underline cursor, I think), no other messages. I also tried
the boot0 from another 4.1-Stable machine - also no work. (This boot0
was byte-for-byte identical to the one from jhb's web page, so it was
not a case of corrupted download!)

Temporary workaround: install the (512-byte) boot0 from the 4.0 CDs
using boot0cfg. This does boot just fine.

Greg,
Still happy to test any suggestions!
