Recent posts have mentioned /etc/make.conf.

The make(1) man page does not mention /etc/make.conf.
There is no make.conf man page.

/etc/make.conf is not installed with FreeBSD 4.2-RELEASE or the STABLE
snapshot of a few days ago.

So.. how do I know what I can put in it? Does /usr/bin/make actually use
it?
