It's not a bikeshed.
Bento builds the packages based on the subdirs in the ports/*/
directories (which are defined in the Makefiles of these directories).
Bento doesn't know of the options which can be set for each Makefile,
it needs them set explicitely, what is done by the seperate port.

Yes.  And there are also packages snapshots, not only for release.
