ok, so I'm trying to write some pretty generic socket code over here.

Using "our" APIs (getaddrinfo) is causing me much pain because I can't
figure out how to map "tcp" -> SOCK_STREAM.

Anyone have any clues on how to do this?  TLI seems to make this too
easy, but we don't have that.
