Just to amend this; the 3/DC is an AMI controller, but the 3/Di is an 
Adaptec design.

Another way of looking at it is that if it's an 'i', or a QC, it's an 
Adaptec.  Otherwise it's an AMI.  Knowing Dell, though, this may change 
again without too much notice. 8(
