A lot of people have asked about this in the past few months, so I'll just a make a general announcement: At long last, there is support for the IBM ServeRAID line of SCSI RAID controllers. The 'ips' driver can be loaded as a module or compiled into the kernel as noted in /sys/i386/conf/NOTES. I've only tested this driver with a 4L model and only on ia32 (SMP), so more testing is welcomed and encouraged. I'd like to that David Jeffreys and Adaptec for providing this driver. My work on it involved porting it forward to 5.x and fixing a couple of bugs. I hope to get the 4.x version working with the bugfixes in the next week. Hopefully my time for this won't disappear like it has for the past 8 months. Also, while this driver contains a management device, there are no management apps for FreeBSD that I know of at this time. It is also unlikely that any Linux apps will work with this driver, though it's low on my priority list at the moment and I'd be happy to be proven wrong. Scott
